Nowadays when most people think of wearable technology they think of sports aids that monitor and track your movements or assist with GPS while you exercise. But wearables actually extend beyond this concept to all sorts of new products with a wide range of focuses and capabilities, including eyewear, wristbands, ‘jewellery’ clip-ons, smart watches and wearable cameras like GoPros. A fun, nifty product that we found is the Narrative Clip 2 a wearable camera that takes automatic photos of ‘life as it happens’, which are then shared through its mobile application. These ideas have certainly come a long way from the calculator watch of the 1980’s; arguably one of the first pieces of ‘wearable technology’.

What is net neutrality?
Net neutrality is a hot topic in America where it sparks big debate, but is it something we need to be monitoring in South Africa? The idea behind net neutrality (also known as network neutrality, Internet neutrality, or net equality) is that Internet service providers (ISPs) should treat all data on the Internet equally, and not discriminate or charge differentially based on user, content, site, or platform.
Now in its 12th year, the Cape Epic is an eight day mountain biking event that took place from the 15 to 22 March 2015. A monster of an event, the Epic sees both local and international mountain biking enthusiasts heading to Cape Town to take on the massive adventure and challenge, riding from University of Cape Town to Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville, in what is now considered the most prestigious mountain biking event in the world.
What does the future hold? When thinking about the future of the digital economy or digital marketplace, brands and investors need to consider consumers’ growing and changing online purchasing trends, as this is where the greatest business opportunities will lie.
